Wallin Labs is a two-person studio — Julia Wallin and Roland Danso — currently fully focused on building Efie by Bisa, a trust-first rental marketplace for Ghana. We're building the platform people in Ghana deserve.
We started out building AI document-intelligence tools — FundMemo, Surfaced, and Ryder — for real clients. That work is done; we're now all-in on Efie by Bisa.
What we believe
Trust beats features
People don't choose Efie because it's slicker. They choose it because scams are common enough that trust is the actual barrier to renting in Ghana. Verified landlords get badged and ranked; unverified listings stay visible so supply never stalls. We build for the person taking the risk, not for the feature list.
Built on real incentives, not lock-in
Payment and verification run through the platform — enforcing Ghana's legal cap on upfront rent. That gives renters real protection and landlords real assurance, so both sides have a structural reason to stay, not just a lower fee.
The product should fit how people actually transact
Not the other way around. Flood risk, water source, backup power — the details that actually decide whether a home works in Ghana, not just price and location. We design around how landlords and renters here actually operate, not around what's easiest to build.
Complexity should be invisible
Renting a home shouldn't feel complicated. The verification and trust work happens behind the scenes.
